Minutes, 1887-1891,1897-1944.

The series contains the minutes of the Railroad Commission from 1887-1891 and 1897-1944. There is a gap in the minutes because the Railroad Commission was established in 1887 and suspended in 1891 and re-created in 1897. Included are seven volumes of original minutes, three indexes, and five volumes of duplicate copies of the minutes. The minutes document the topics of discussion, decisions made, and actions taken by the Commission regarding rates, notices, and rules for railroads, common carriers, canal companies, telephone and telegraph companies, and public utilities.
